Prayer for Sons
Abba Father. I continue to acknowledge you as the author and finisher of my faith. The faith knowing that you have heard my prayer regarding my son(s). My prayer is that you lead and guide my son(s) in your perfect will. (Heb 12:2; Matt 6:10)
Lord, I confess that my thoughts and actions, as a parent, often take over when all I had to do was leave it to you. I repent of my sin of selfishness and arrogance as a parent thinking that I was in control. God, remove the desire to be the “little g god” and allow you to be God, LORD Almighty in my son(s) life. I ask that you give me courage to be still and know that you are God and that you will be exalted among the nations, and exalted in the earth. (Psm 46:10 ESV)
Yahweh Nissi (The Lord is my Banner) Cover my son(s) heart, mind and soul from the enemies plan to steal, kill and destroy. Deafen my son(s) ears to word curses; voices of anger, condemnation, racism, injustice or anything that would try to wound my son(s) spirit and I thank you for the protection of the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for my son(s). (John 10:10, John 3:16).
Father, I Pray that my son(s) commit his way to you and that you Lord would do your will in my son(s) life. Lord give my son(s) strength to resist temptation; give my son (s) wisdom to make good choices and decisions in all that concerns my son(s). (Psm 51:10-17; Prov 2:6; Prov 4:7)
According to James 1:19 (NIV) My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. Lord give me listening ears to hear my son(s) voice to be able to come to you in prayer and petition on my son(s) behalf.
I come laying every burden and challenge at your throne of grace and mercy on behalf of my son(s) because your word says to in 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) to cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. I now cast these cares upon you regarding my son(s). Substance abuse , incarceration, mental health challenges financial debt, disobedience, poor choices, lack of motivation, pride, sickness/health issues , joblessness, anger, fear, sadness , generational curses, slough, greed , the spirit of entitlement, peer pressure, bad role models, feelings of abandonment.
God of All comfort, I thank you according to your words in John 14:27 (Amp) that says: Peace I leave with you; my [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]
Thank you for Zephaniah 3:17 (CEV) that says: The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.
Lord, I now receive the victory that my son(s) will walk in the fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control). Thank you that no weapon formed against my son(s) will prosper (Isa 54:17). Thank you LORD that your words in Isaiah 61 gives me assurance of deliverance for my son(s)….to bring good news to the oppressed, bind the brokenhearted, liberty to the captives, release to the prisoner, to comfort those that mourn, to give garland and the oil of gladness instead of ashes and mourning. Thank you that my son(s) will be called an oak of righteousness, priests of the Lord, ministers of God.
The Great I AM, it is in full expectation by faith that I am praying for your divine intervention as a banner all around my son(s) future. I say thank you for answered prayers and making changes in my son(s) life and it is in my Lord and Savior name, Jesus Christ that I pray. Amen.
